Mr Ignatius Yeo

Founder and Director (Clementi)

Mr Ignatius is a former Ministry of Education Teacher and holds a Masters of Education (Mathematics) from NIE, NTU Singapore. He specialises in Secondary School mathematics for both O level and Integrated Programme.

Under his tutelage are students from top schools such as Nanyang Girls’ High School, Raffles Girls’ School, Raffles Institution, River Valley High School, Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, Nan Hua High School, Anglo Chinese School (Independent), Hwa Chong Institution, St Joseph’s Institution and more.

His vast teaching experience and effective pedagogy have impacted thousands of students. Many of them have done tremendously well in their National Examinations and Year 4 Integrated Programme Examinations.

He has authored and co authored numerous math textbooks and school assessment books. He is currently the Principal tutor in AlphaOmegaMath Clementi and is happily married with 3 daughters.

Andrew taught in both primary and secondary schools before. He was also a teacher of English Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies in both the mainstream general curriculum as well as the Gifted Education Programme at Anglo-Chinese School. He used to be a reading specialist with the School Psychological Service, Ministry of Education. He used to teach children with special needs with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore and at several private learning centers for special needs between 1997-2003. He became a founding principal/therapist of the Center for Exceptional Children in 2003 and worked there until 2007. Currently, Andrew is in private practice and is also a Special Needs Consultant with the i-Disability & Disorder Diagnostics Clinic. Andrew used to train teachers to teach special mathematics education in special schools in Singapore (2008-2016). He is also a visiting professor at the University of Saint Joseph in Macau, PRC.

Mr Wong Chong Lee
M.Sc (ECE) , M.Ed (SEd)

Chong Lee holds MSc and MEd qualifications of which both relate to the educational field. Currently, he is pursuing his Board Certification in Educational Therapy with an International Association for Educational Therapy that is US-based. As a private practitioner, Chong Lee provides mathematics learning services to students studying in both the mainstream and non-mainstream education sectors.

Chong Lee’s MEd’s dissertation is on the relationship between Number Sense and Math Performance among Singapore Preschoolers. In addition, in his previous work place, he had helped to design several sets of in-house Math Diagnostic Assessment (Before and After Intervention) as well as conducting classes for students learning Mathematics from preschool to secondary levels. Currently, Chong Lee continues to coach and prepare students for taking the Mathematics both at the PSLE and O level examinations.

Mr Loh graduated with Nanyang Technological University in the school of EEE and a minor in Business Finance. At a young age, he has been proficient in mathematics and often provides a helping hand to surrounding peers where he gains his passion for teaching and becoming a good communicator to people around him.

With 10 over years in a global Swiss MNC as a Manager, he possesses with him strong leadership skills and a variety of experience covering sales and marketing with significant growth result. During his pastime, he enjoys reading and spending time with his family.

Mr Bervyn

With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Economics, and with more than 7 years of teaching experience in different schools, Mr. Bervyn Yeo is passionate about both the subject of Mathematics as well as the teaching of Mathematics.

Across his MOE teaching career, Mr. Bervyn Yeo has taught all 3 streams and was also the form teacher of a mixed stream class, from one of the first few schools in Singapore which pioneered the full Subject-Based Banding and Mixed form class initiative by MOE.

Mr. Bervyn Yeo is the chief editor of Mastering Additional Mathematics and has also curated customized Primary One to Six resource books. He is no stranger to integrating technology into his pedagogy. He was also part of the Applied Learning Programme Committee in his former school and attended courses on incorporating technology to make learning effective and meaningful. Having also conducted the Zoom Algebra Masterclass for Secondary One students, Mr. Bervyn Yeo believes that technology, when used appropriately, enhances a child's learning experience.

Having worked with many different profiles of students, Mr. Bervyn Yeo is able to connect with the younger generation and aims to bring out the best in them.

Praxis is the process by which a theory or lesson is realised. In the context of Educational Psychology, the term Praxis is defined as the process by which a theory or lesson is enacted through real life examples in a cycle of action-reflection-action. Our teaching philosophy runs parallel to Praxis where theoretical knowledge and practical learning coincide.

Praxis Academia is founded by Mr Alan Yeo, owner of Best Learning Centre (BLC) established since 2009. Mr Yeo has vast management experience in the education industry supported by a team of Former MOE teachers and highly qualified tutors.
